Wellbore history
GeneralWell 25/11-22 was drilled east of the Grane Field to test the hydrocarbon potential of the AQ prospect. Primary target was a prognosed 23 m thick Heimdal sand body within the Lista Formation shale. The trap was estimated as a stratigraphic pinch out of the sand.Operations and resultsExploration well 25/11-22 was spudded with the semi-submersible installation "West Vanguard" on 7 January 1998 and drilled to a total depth of 1805 m, 31m into the Tor Formation. The well was drilled with seawater and bentonite down to 1249 m and with "ANCO 2000" mud from 1249 m to TD. No sand was detected. No hydrocarbons were detected. A total of 5 cores were cut from 1686 m to 1771 m in claystones in the Sele, Lista, and Våle Formations. The recovery varied from 20% to 99.7%. No fluid samples were taken. The well was permanently abandoned as a dry well on 24 January 1998.TestingNo drill stem test was performed. -
