Wellbore history
GeneralWell 7122/7-1 was drilled as an exploration well on the Goliat prospect situated in the southeastern part of block 7122/7. The purpose of the well was to test the hydrocarbon potential of the sandstones of the Kapp Toscana Group in the Goliat prospect. The Goliat prospect is a faulted structural closure in the crestal part of a major Northeast-southwest trending roll-over anticline situated in the southeastern part of the Hammerfest Basin.Operations and resultsExploration well 7122/7-1 was spudded on 16 September 2000 with the semi-submersible installation "Transocean Arctic" and drilled to TD at 1524 m RKB, 148 m into the Middle-Late Triassic Snadd Sandstone Formation. The well was drilled with Seawater and bentonite hi-vis pills down to 690 m, and with formate brine / XC polymer / PAC from 690 m to TD. The top of the main reservoir in the Kapp Toscana Group was found at 1102 m, 1 m below the prognosis. The reservoir was oil bearing. Free water level was found at 1146 m RKB based on the MDT pressure plot. Below this depth shows were moderate to poor. The Kapp Toscana Group proved very variable reservoir properties. Three cores were cut in the interval 1133 to 1178 m in the Kapp Toscana Group. The reservoir oil zone was sampled at 3 different depths by MDT sampling. Three monophasic bottom samples were collected together with one conventional bottom sample at each depth. The samples were transferred to Single-phase bottles at the rig site and transported to the PVT lab for analysis. The well was permanently abandoned on 5 October 2000 as an oil discovery.TestingNo drill stem test was performed -

Pressure plots
Pressure plots The pore pressure data is sourced from well logs if no other source is specified. In some wells where pore pressure logs do not exist, information from Drill stem tests and kicks have been used. The data has been reported to the NPD, and further processed and quality controlled by IHS Markit.Pressure plots Document nameDocument formatDocument size [MB]pdf0.21
