Wellbore history
GeneralWell 7219/12-1 was drilled on the Filicudi prospect in the northern part of Ringvasshøy-Loppa Fault Complex in the Barents Sea. The primary objective was to test the hydrocarbon potential in the Late Triassic – Early Jurassic Tubåen and Fruholmen formations. Secondary objective was to test the hydrocarbon potential in the Triassic Snadd Formation.Operations and resultsWildcat well 7219/12-1 was spudded with the semi-submersible installation Leiv Eriksson on 25 November 2016 and drilled to TD at 2500 m in the Late Triassic Snadd Formation. Below 1500 m the well started to build angle, with maximum deviation of 8 ° at TD, where TVD is 4.5 m short of MD. The well was drilled with Seawater and hi-vis sweeps down to 667 m, and with Performadril water-based mud (3.2 – 4 % glycol) from 667 m to TD.The well encountered top Tubåen Formation primary target at 1503 m with excellent reservoir properties in Rhaetian age sandstone . The Tubåen sandstone was gas and oil filled with GOC at 1568.5 m, and oil down to the FWL at 1630 m. Oil shows, fluorescence and cut, were described on cores down to 1660 m. Apart from this, only weak shows were recorded on two sidewall cores at 1694.7 and 2320 m, and on two cuttings samples at 1687 m and 2176 m.Six cores were cut from 1503.0 m to 1671.4 m with close to 100% total recovery. MDT fluid samples were taken at 1525 m (gas), 1577.8 m (oil), 1593.3 m (oil), 1604.2 m (oil), 1628.6 m (oil), and 1651.5 m (water). The well was permanently abandoned on 19 January 2017 as an oil and gas discovery well.TestingNo drill stem test was performed. -
