    OBSERVATION, PRODUCTION, INJECTION, INJECTION-CCS, OBSERVATION-CCS.

    Legal values for other wellbores:
    SOIL DRILLING (drilling in connection with track surveys and other subsurface surveys to investigate the soil conditions prior to placement of facilities),
    SHALLOW GAS (drilling to investigate shallow gas before the first 'real' drilling on the location),
    PILOT (drilling to investigate the geology and fluid connectors for location of the main wellbore),
    SCIENTIFIC (drilling according to Law of Scientific research and exploration),
    STRATIGRAPHIC (driling according to Law of Petroleum activities §2-1).
    WILDCAT
    Status
    Status for the wellbore. Legal values are:

    BLOWOUT: A blowout has occurred in the well.
    CLOSED: A development wellbore that has been closed in a shorter or longer periode. Also applies to development wellbores where drilling is completed, but production/injection has not yet been reported.
    DRILLING: The well is in the drilling phase - can be active drilling, logging, testing or plugging,
    JUNKED: The drilling operation has been terminated due to technical problems.
    P&A: Exploration: The well is plugged and abandoned, and can not be reentered for further use. Development wells: The production/injection from/to the well is stopped and the well is plugged. The wellhead is removed or else made unavailable for further well operations.
    PLUGGED: The wellbore has been plugged, but the upper parts of the wellbore can be re-used. A sidetrack might be drilled at a later stage.
    PRODUCING: It was produced from the wellbore at the time of the operators last monthly report to the Norwegian Offshore Directorate.
    INJECTING: It was injected to the wellbore at the time of the operators last monthly report to the Norwegian Offshore Directorate.
    PREDRILLED: The upper part of the well has been drilled, usually as part of a batch-drilling campaign covering several wellbores.
    RE-CLASS TO DEV: Exploration wellbore that is reclassified to a development wellbore.
    RE-CLASS TO TEST: Exploration wellbore that is reclassified to test production.
    SUSPENDED: The drilling operation in the wellbore has been temporarily stopped. The current plan is to continue drilling later on.

  • Wellbore history

    General
    Well 7018/5-1 was drilled to test the Spissa prospect in the Troms-Finmark Fault Complex in the southwestern Barents Sea. The primary objective was to evaluate the reservoir quality and hydrocarbon potential of the Late Triassic to Middle Jurassic Realgrunnen Subgroup.
    Operations and results
    Due too poor seismic imaging in the area two pilot wells were drilled prior to the exploration well to obtain more detailed data on the shallow stratigraphy in the area and for safety reasons. Pilot 7018/5-U-7was drilled off-prospect for stratigraphic information and TD'd at 719 m in the Cretaceous Knurr Formation. Pilot 7018/5-U-8 was drilled on-prospect to TD at 593 m in the Cretaceous Kolje Formation to evaluate possible shallow gas hazards. No shallow gas or water flow was observed.
    Wildcat well 7018/5-1 was spudded with the semi-submersible installation West Hercules on 3 November 2020 and drilled to TD at 1130 m in the Middle Jurassic Stø Formation. Operations proceeded without significant problems. The well was drilled with spud mud down to 591 m and with Glydril mud from 591 m to TD.
    The well encountered the Stø Formation at 910 m, with good reservoir properties, however water filled. Good oil shows in the form of odour, direct and cut fluorescence were recorded on SWC's in the upper part of Stø down to 937 m while more patchy fluorescence and cut without odour was recorded at 1031 to 1034 m below a claystone layer within the Stø Formation. Apart from the shows in the Stø Formation faint hydrocarbon odour was noted in the lower part of Hekkingen Fm and down into the Fuglen Formation.
    No conventional cores were cut. Twenty-five side-wall cores were acquired. No fluid sample was taken. Ten XPT pressure points taken with wireline indicated a water gradient of 1.077g/cc.
    The well was permanently abandoned on 27 November 2020 as a dry well.
